KADDB ORGANIZES “CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LIABILITY FOR BOARD MEMBERS” SEMINAR

In Collaboration with the Jordan Bar Association, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) organized a seminar entitled “Civil and Criminal Liability for Board Members”, which was attended by the Department Managers for both KADDB and the KADDB Investment Group (KIG), as well as the General Managers of the Group Affiliates and their Board Members.

Speakers at the Seminar were Mr. Khaldoun Nsour, Companies Committee Chairman at the Jordan Bar Association and a board member of the Jordanian Bar Association for various tenures as well as Mr. Waddah Atiyyat, Owner of Waddah Attiyyat and Partners, which represents more than 30 local and international companies as clients. Mr. Tarif Nabil, from Nabil Tarif Law Office was also invited to speak at the seminar to share his extensive experience as a post graduate in commercial law, together with Mr. Munjed Obeidat,  Public Relations Manager at the Ministry of Trade and Industry who is also a post graduate in commercial law.  Mr. Akram Obeidat, KADDB’s  Chief Legal Counsel, was a speaker and the MC of the event.

The Seminar focused on the legal position of the companies’ boards, from the perspective of the Companies’ Code, and Commerce Code, in addition to the legal responsibilities imposed on each board member.

During the Seminar, topics concerning the corporate governance and the involvement of board members in the management of companies as well as their legal liabilities were discussed with the view of  achieving an effective involvement. 

It is worth mentioning that both KADDB and the KIG are holding various activities as part of the Corporate Governance initiative which aims for perfection in developing the work procedures in all activities.
